If I’m being honest, one of my goals in life is to have a really nice aquarium. Something big enough for the fish to live happy and healthy lives. Of course aquariums come with a lot of responsibility, which is difficult when you already have other pets in the house. That’s where the reef-pi controller comes in.
This is a modular, affordable, and extendable controller that automates a variety of tasks in your aquarium like feeding, temperature control, light cycles, and more. The design is open source, but you’ll need a board to get started on building your own.
The Reef-Pi Pico fulfills this need with a Raspberry Pi Base board that you can use to build out the full controller. The board has several ports and built-in hardware that simplifies the process of completing your own controller.
If you have an aquarium of your own and considered automating elements of it, this is a perfect place to start.
