Every modular system needs it’s own unique style and this Dual Low Pass Gate offers that in abundance! With two independent channels based on the Buchla low pass gate, you get a super stereo resonant filter set up as a VCA, making gate and trigger signals which produce highly organic sounds for both ears!
The Dual Low Pass Gate uses three LDRs (Light Dependent Resistors) creating a smooth transition and response from CV signals. It uses CV to control the filter drive to saturate the incoming sounds or control the ‘pluck’ element to create a short burst of string-like contact. A third LDR is used within the filter circuit to control its depth and response time, creating a pseudo-muted effect for the sounds you’ve got running in. Plug in a stereo source, or two mono sounds to create unusual dynamic and modulated effects!
The Dual Low Pass Gate is completely open source and comes from Jacob Barss-Bailey’s Tindie store, based in San Fransisco. You can get the unit fully assembled with knobs, power cable, LEDs and front panel or buy the PCB only,if you’re up for some advanced level super soldering!
