There are plenty of uses for a connected LED display – bitcoin price ticker, clock, and text message scroller all come to mind. Sometimes it’s easier to have something in the room with you that keeps track of a metric so you don’t have to constantly check your phone or computer.
The tickerOne solves this problem in style. The creator wanted a Bitcoin price ticker, and decided to make something that would solve the problem while also looking good in the process. The display is encased in Slovenian beech wood that pairs well with the LED dot matrix display.
The preloaded firmware connects to a configuration server where you can set the type of display you would like. It’s easy to setup too: just power it on, connect to SSID tickerOne, and set your WiFi.
If you’d like to flash your own firmware, you can do so as well. Beyond that, the only thing you’ll need is a Micro USB cable and power adapter (any phone charger will work).
