We imagine that the name for this product “My Baby’s got LED” should be sung to the tune of Nina Simone’s classic “My baby don’t care for clothes” but unsure as we are on that, we are sure this is a great board for creating wireless smart LED systems.
Onboard is an ESP8266 which is pre flashed with the opensource WLED software. This means that, once a string of addressable RGB LED’s are attached, you can connect your phone or laptop to the WiFi network and tinker with the lights in the browser. Of course, you could also connect it to other services or software on the internet to make reactive displays limited only by your imagination!
My Baby’s Got LED requires an ATX power supply and it’s stated that a 500W supply can power up to 500 LED’s. It also happily works with either the WS2182 Neopixel or the Dotstar/APA102 addressable LED’s. There’s an FTDI header onboard if you need to update the software and the ESP module is broken out to header pins which is handy if you wanted to add more hardware or sensors to your project.
