We all enjoy making music, and with a MIDI controller you get the tactile feel of a device which physically connects you to your sounds. Well, now is the time to build your own dream device, with the latest third version of the OpenDeck DIY MIDI Platform – allowing for custom controllers loaded with the features you need to hit the big time… or at least the open mic night!
OpenDeck is now on version 3 and brings with it a number of advancements; accepting either Arduino Nano 33 BLE or STM32F4 Black Pill boards, which differ in their ability to offer Bluetooth MIDI or not. The design is configurable on the internet, with no extra drivers or software needed. It supports all kinds of MIDI messages including NRPNs, with latching messages for buttons, numerous encoding modes and LED control using MIDI In. Time to add buttons, faders, stomp switches, encoders, pots and ribbon controllers!
There is a wealth of documentation made available by the seller, covering everything you need to know to get started and make the MIDI happen! It’s sold by Shantea Controls who are based in Croatia, focusing their sales on all things OpenDeck – so you know if you have any questions about the platform, they’ll be there for you.
