Nine-volt power pack batteries are used for various purposes, but perhaps most commonly these days they often power smoke alarms. As such, one needs to change them well before they’re fully discharged, leaving extra power on the table so to speak. To take advantage of this extra power, and keep batteries out of the landfill just a little longer, the 3-function 9-volt battery LED torch kit from LEDsales can help get (nearly) every last drop of juice out of your power packs.
The kit body is made of PCB, to which the positive and negative connectors are riveted in place. It lights with either one or two LEDs. 150 and 220 ohm resistors are included to set the LED current depending on what type you’re using, and a trim pot allows you to select an even lower current in moonlight/marker mode. The kit fits nicely on the 9V battery power pack, adding just a little bit of extra volume to the top.
The device features a 4-position slide switch to select between both LEDs, just one LED, or low power marker mode. In this low-power mode, the device can last for around 2 weeks, which would be a great way to mark a location or item for later use, or perhaps to set the borders around a playfield or restricted area.
