When I think of compact and rugged cellular devices, the first thing that comes to mind are the old Motorola phones that felt like they could survive a nuclear apocalypse. It’s always nice to see modern devices combine a tough exterior with a feature-rich design, but too often today’s devices are extremely fragile.
The UR32 is looking to change all of this, at least in the realm of cellular modems. Featuring a compact design and high-efficiency focus, the device has passed rigorous vibration, falling, and temperature tests with flying colors.
The operating temperature range alone is impressive: -40°C to +70°C. This allows it to function in M2M applications, even if they are conducted in harsh environments. It features a built-in LTE CAT4 modem, and support for dual SIM backup.
