Wearables are evolving at an incredible rate, especially when you consider how recently they’ve become a mainstream concept. This is especially true on Tindie, where I see some amazing designs that combine art with fashion for spectacular results.
Bright Wearables has a store full of different options and hardware to create your own wearables, but if you’re looking to dive right in with a turnkey solution, I would recommend the Annie Mini Backpack bundle.
The bundle includes the Bright Board and micro:bit, along with the backpack as well. The name comes from NASA programmer and rocket scientist Annie Easley. The backpack itself is made from vegan leather and is pre-cut with star-shaped cutouts for the LEDs to shine through from the bright board.
The micro:bit is required, but if you already have one, there is an option to exclude it from this bundle. The goal with this product was to create a durable and attractive wearable that you can program at home and then take out with you to show off your patterns and colors.
From that perspective, I would say the Annie Mini Backpack is a complete success!
