Listening to music made on the original hardware is an audiophile and music nerd’s dream! Great news then that the mt32pi hat for zero 2w model Raspberry pi has just been released, giving us the opportunity to put our ever-growing Raspberry Pi collection to work in playing MIDI music from original system engines. If you’ve ever gamed on an ao486, Atari ST, Amiga, or x68000, then you’re in for a treat!
Designed for the new Raspberry Pi Zero 2W (but it will work with other models), this unique device will connect to your MiSTer FPGA to enable you to listen to classic MIDI music from a whole host of vintage video games, as well as being munt and fluidsynth compatible. Using the hat means you can connect a Raspberry Pi directly to a MISTer machine using just a USB3 male to male cable. Incorporating the Raspberry Pi Zero 2W gives it an incredibly small form factor, capable of being transported, affixed, and accessed easily.
The mt32pi hat is the first product from Yavimaya Maker who is based in Alicante, Spain – what a tremendous start to the year as a first product. MISTer and MIDI fans rejoice!
