So you have a website that’s popular enough to receive comments, pingbacks, or other interesting interactions, but you’d rather not check your site (or emails) compulsively. If that sounds like you, then the WPLight is an interesting product to consider.
This light can be connected to your WordPress blog via WiFi, and, as its Tindie listing puts it: “When something happens it blinks.” This can be an alert to show you when there are comments to approve, when there are new orders in the case of an eCommerce site, or several other options.
Setup is done via its WiFi network, and there’s a WordPress plugin available to configure things on your website. If that doesn’t present enough flexibility, it has an open API for you to program it to respond to other electronic stimuli, such as blinking for incoming emails or when a website is down.
It’s a clever idea, and now you don’t have to wait to find such excellent comments as, “Your content is much interesting, I subscribe so fun,” with link back to a vaping and/or gambling site — the bane of many a WordPress comment moderator.
