If a normal quadcopter looks cool, one with a V-Tail configuration is even better. Or as this quadcopter’s Tindie listing puts it, the “V-Tail design increases yaw authority (and looks awesome).” Yaw, if you’re wondering, is the act of turning about a vertical axis by angular motion. This increased performance makes sense since the back blades are actually pushing air to cause body rotation, and not simply relying on a side effect of the direction the propellers are spinning.
Besides looking good, this quadcopter frame features front wings that flip back for storage/transportation, or to absorb forward impact rather than breaking. It also has a rail system for add-ons. Given it’s capability to lift up to 4 kg (8.8 lbs!) with the “Insane” motor kit, these rails will likely come in very handy.
You can see it flying around above a dirt road in the video below. It looks innocent enough in that video, but if it were to pop out at night, perhaps painted in Terminator colors, I’d have to think many people would run and hide in the woods!
